Group Class Descriptions
Below are descriptions of group classes currently conducted by Family Gym.   From Butts and Guts to Yoga Fit and Boot Camp to CrossFit, class intensity and style vary greatly to cater to all fitness levels.

Coronado and San Diego Schedules
   BOOT CAMP - 1 HOUR
Workout with the best...combines, strength, speed, endurance, agility, and flexibility. Burn calories and get that definition that you want.
   BASIC TRAINING - 1 HOUR
Perfect class for beginners and those with injuries, issues, special needs or concerns.  A less intense version of Boot Camp class with special emphasis on stretching and flexibility.  Former couch potatoes welcomed.
   BELLY FIT - 1 HOUR
Belly Fit uses belly dancing movements for a great overall workout open to all ability levels.  Builds strength, tones muscles, builds core balance, coordination, and promotes weight loss all while having a good time.
   BODY COMBAT™ - 1 HOUR
Body Combat™ is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as Karate, boxing, Taekwondo, Tai Chi and Muay Thai.  Supported by driving music, powerful instructors strike, punch, kick and kata your way through calories to superior cardio fitness. 
   BUTTS AND GUTS - 1/2 HOUR
Get that junk out of your trunk!  Intense, butt blasting and gut busting moves.  Whittle that middle by focusing on your glutes, thighs, abs and lower back.  All levels welcome.  Get your booty back!
   CARDIO KICK BOXING - 1 HOUR
A fun and energized cardio workout for all levels! Release stress while learning various punching and kicking combinations, to heart pounding, fun music! Learn the basics of kickboxing while gaining confidence and burning hundreds of calories.


   CROSS FIT - 1/2 HOUR
Go cry to your momma because this class will kick your butt.  Long sets of high reps of all your favorites – push ups, squats, etc.  This is the hardest workout you will ever do!  Not for beginners.
   INTRO TO CROSS FIT - 1/2 HOUR
A less intense class than the original, but still a great workout.  Focus will be on performing the moves correctly and with good form and body alignment.  Great for beginners.
   FIT AND FLEXIBLE - 1 HOUR
A great class for seniors or anyone just starting an exercise program.  Includes it all – low impact cardio moves, muscle toning using light weight and a big chunk of time for stretching and flexibility.
   PILATES - 1 HOUR
A toning, stretching, and core strengthening class for all levels! Benefits include leaner and stronger abs and glutes, as well as improved flexibility. Lose inches and tighten everything up while feeling the relaxation and benefits of stretching. Please bring your own floor mat.
   SPIN CIRCUIT - 1 HOUR
The same great format you love with Boot Camp – just adapted for use with the bikes!  Short intervals have you moving quickly from bikes to floor where you’ll use weights, do cardio moves and ab work plus much more.  Great for all levels.
   SPIN CORE - 1 HOUR
Get your core and more in shape!  Class is designed for 30 – 35 minutes of spinning followed by a solid core workout – abs and lower back.  Great for all levels.
   SPIN PLUS - 1 HOUR
More spin is in!  A longer ride than the Spin Core class  - 40 minutes plus upper body strengthening and toning.  Beginners to advanced.
   SPIN CIRCUIT - 1 HOUR
The same great format you love with Boot Camp – just adapted for use with the bikes!  Short intervals have you moving quickly from bikes to floor where you’ll use weights, do cardio moves and ab work plus much more.  Great for all levels.
   SPINNING - 1 HOUR
All Spin all the time!  An athletic training class designed to provide all levels of students a fun, safe, and challenging workout.
   STEP AND SCULPT - 1 HOUR
Step it up people!  Get both strength training and cardio in this total body workout.  Pair 30 minutes of athletic and/or dance based aerobic moves using a step bench plus 30 minutes of muscle sculpting moves using free weights and bands.  Step heights vary to allow all workout levels.
   SUPER CIRCUIT - 1 HOUR
Work the room, baby!  Hit every muscle group as you quickly move through stations of equipment including kettle bells, medicine balls, stability ball, jump rope, BOSU and more!  Heart pumping, nonstop workout.  Go hard or go home.
   YOGA FIT - 1 HOUR
A yoga class for students with some previous yoga experience and good general mobility.   This class will include typical asana (poses) such as forward bends, back bends, twists, and standing poses. Class will emphasize the use of breath, body awareness, and finding your individual yoga 'edge'. Please bring your own yoga mat.
   ZUMBA - 1 HOUR
Dance your way to a fitter you.  Exciting and unique Latin moves and rhythms, Zumba, the class that is taking the world by storm.
